Client - Counsellor
This contract would be signed by you, the client and me, the counsellor, Soraya Hind. It sets out what you can expect during counselling sessions with me. I may occasionally make small changes, which may not always be reflected immediately on this site.
Code of Ethics
I am a counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. This framework can found on www.bacp.co.uk if you would like to read it.
Everything discussed during counselling will remain confidential, apart from under the certain rare occasions (which will be shown in the copy we sign).
I will always work in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that your personal data will be kept to a minimum, stored securely and only used for contacting you regarding your counselling sessions. I cannot guarantee that all information exchanged electronically is completely secure. However, I will always do my best to reduce the risk of any data protection breaches, by using measures such as reference numbers rather than names.
I may sometimes take notes to help our work together. These will always be stored securely and available for you to see, if you ever want to.
To make sure that I am providing the best possible service I can, I have regular supervision and may sometimes discuss your sessions with my supervisor. This will be done without revealing your identity.
Beginnings & Endings
Our agreement to work together at an agreed regular time, will start with us both going through and signing this contract. Each session will last for 50 minutes. My commitment to you will be open ended, unless we agree on a fixed number of sessions. If you want to stop counselling, I ask for at least 1 weeks’ notice, to give us both an opportunity to reflect on bringing our work together to an end.
Please give me at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel a session. You will still be charged for a full session if you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice or if you are late.
I may on rare occasions need to increase my fees, but I will give you at least 4 weeks’ notice.
Contact between sessions.
This will be limited to the practicalities of sessions, like payments, arranging or cancelling sessions. I will not accept friend requests on social media.
